We just got some more books at the library today. Have you read Strega Nona? Or Love You Forever? I am hoping that Abby likes If You Give a Mouse a Cookie as much as I do.

Mom visit
My mom came to visit the weekend of Martin Luther King, Jr Day. She got in late morning on Thursday and stayed with us for two nights, then moved on to Carrie's house.
We had some apartment drama going on while she was here with us. We have a storage closet right outside on our balcony that had been leaking, unbeknownst to us, and we discovered it as we were putting away our Christmas decorations. We store our various boxes and suitcases in there, but everything was damp and covered in ice. We also had an entire wall of the storage closet covered in mold, we later discovered.
Our apartment complex let us use another storage facility a few buildings away from ours, while they hired a company to fix the leak, clean and dry out the moldy closet, and finally seal it so no more mold would grow. As a result we had boxes and miscellaneous strewn everywhere until the last day she stayed with us.
Abby usually doesn't make much noise when she is around anyone other than Spencer and I, but we were happy that she only needed an hour or so before she was talking and smiling and laughing the way she usually does with my mom around.
Sorry I'm posting this morning before-getting-ready picture, Mom... I liked how you two were hanging out.
On Saturday, Spencer and I moved our stuff into the other storage unit while my mom fed Abs, and afterward we met up with Carrie, Daniel, and kids. We all went out to Texas Roadhouse for lunch. I'd never been before, but I really liked it- I had the ribs.

9 Months Old!
Baby girl is 9 months old! I can hardly believe it. As Spencer so eloquently put it the other day, she has now been "out of my belly longer than she has been in it." Indeed.
Abby really is so much fun. I miss her newborn-ness, but this part is good stuff too. A few fun facts about our little girl:
- 17 pounds, 3 ounces (22%)
- 27.5 inches height (47%)
- 17.2 inches head circumference (42%)
- sleeps 11-12 hours at night (sometimes more) and about 3 hours during the day. She also puts herself to sleep- I love that about her.
- babbles all the time- "mama," "dada," "blah" or "ba," "rara," and all kinds of other sounds that I can't quite make out
- loves her vegetables- squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, and peas are her favorites. She tolerates applesauce and pears and peaches.
- can feed herself finger foods (so far we've just done puffs)
- her hair is getting a little longer on top. She looks like a fuzzy duckling after we dry her off from a bath.
- loves to be startled
- smiles for the camera, just before trying to grab it out of my hands and eat it. Loves to watch herself on videos.
- no teeth yet!
- dances from side to side while eating in her bumbo chair eating
She is quite possibly the sweetest girl ever.

We Love Keena
But I didn't take any pictures of her visit.
Well, I took two. And here they are:
Well, I took two. And here they are:
Keena came all the way to Utah (in the cold, and you people know how much she hates the cold!) and we had a great time with her. We went to Chipotle on our way home from the airport and hung out that night.
I had a few things planned for us to do: we were going to sleep in and go bowling in the afternoon the next day, followed by dinner at Biaggis and shopping at the Gateway. That afternoon was actually a pretty big snowstorm, so we ended up scrapping everything and staying home ALL day, frosting and decorating Christmas cookies, and watching movies. (500) Days of Summer and Road to Perdition, if you must know.
The next day we had lunch and I drove Keena to Carrie's place so she could hang out with her and the kiddos at her house. It was a short visit full of snow, but I am SO glad she came to see us! We love you Keena, thank you!
