1, 2, 3 (Shame on Me)...

To say that things have been busy around here is a gross understatement.
I promised to update you, and I haven't. Sorry, shame on me. (But only a little- things have really been busy!)

I have a 3 month (soon to be 4 month)-old baby, and a very willful 3 year old... it's an interesting mix. The 3 year old isn't quite old enough to be extremely helpful, and of course young enough that she can throw a spectacular temper tantrum over just about anything if in the proper mood.

Two months before Brady was born, Spencer accepted a new job in Draper as an attorney for a law firm there. It's been pretty amazing, for a guy who really enjoys spending time with his family, as this firm doesn't have a billable hours requirements and maintains weekday hours only. He's off by 5 every day, and although he travels locally a lot for court, he is usually home by 6, depending on traffic back to South Ogden. Cue huge life change #1.

We took this guy home from the hospital. Huge life change #2!
{My first day alone as a mom of 2!}
Here is some of the first part of our summer-

...my seester had a baby two weeks before I did...

And we are closing on a house tomorrow! Cue huge life change #3! New job, new baby, and a new house (along with accompanying move, mortgage, depleted bank account, and homeowner responsibilities) all in a matter of months is a lot for this girl. If I'm in the same situation for a while, I tend to get comfortable with the familiar and dread fear hesitate change.
I'd have more to add, but there's too much to do.
Wish us luck!

It's been a while...

So, I've been really absent lately. I'm 7 weeks out from having a sweet baby boy, and to be honest, blogging hasn't been high on my priority list for quite some time. Nevertheless, here are the highlights (that I've actually taken pictures of) of the last few months.

Ab got her hands on a blue permanent marker (not exactly a highlight, but it was one of those frustrating moments that I thought to take angry pictures of!)

We had Easter dinner with Spencer's family.

Made myself a car seat cover:

Abby turned 3! Here she is unwrapping presents from my parents with my mom on Skype.

She wanted a Piglet party (not Winnie the Pooh and Piglet--just Piglet.) We had a party with pink, dark pink, and silver colors, and a menu of Piglets in a Blanket with Hunny Mustard sauce, Tigger's Twisted Pasta Salad, and fruit.

Also Piglet's favorite treat-acorns made of Nutter Butters and Hershey's Kisses.

Those boys, always wearing their Boston gear.

My 3 year old!

 At 40.5 weeks pregnant!

... And here is Brady Marshall Lythgoe, born 6 days past his due date on May 29, at 6:12 pm.
A full birth story will come later, but the short version is I had mild, infrequent contractions during the day, which didn't become regular or painful until 5 pm, and he was born naturally w/out an epidural less than an hour later. There was (again) mecconium in my water, and so Mr. Brady needed lung therapy and oxygen treatment.

As well as the bili lights!

Abby was SO excited to have her brother home.

More to come, I hope!

Slacker

So, I need to get my act together and post about crap before this baby comes--4 weeks or less, people!!
I've been working a ton, and there have been a lot of changes going on around here- including a new job for Spencer! I've been (barely) on Insta and that's about my social media these days. Oh, and FB stalking.

This also happened a few months ago:

Big girl loves her big girl bed. She just turned 3 on Saturday, and we are still so in love.
Hopefully I'll have some interesting things to talk about soon, and some time to do it in!

Updates and things

Oh my, how time does get away from you. I've been on a vacation from this blog, but here's a quick re-cap:

 Pregnancy:
How far along: 32 weeks this week
Baby: About 4 lbs, appx 16 inches long or so. My next appointment is on Wednesday.
Maternity clothes: Not really; just my one pair of maternity jeans that I now wear around 2 or 3 times a week.
Gender: Boy! Name suggestions?
Movement: Moving all the time, at inconvenient times too. I can't remember now how much Abby used to move around now, but I go back and forth trying to decide who moved more.
Sleep: Not bad, although I've had a few nights of random restless hours. Overall, good.
Cravings: Chocolate milk, but only because I still can't drink a lot of water- which is what I really want- at once or I'll get sick. Chocolate milk has been my solution to that this past week.
Symptoms: Shortness of breath, leg cramps in the middle of the night, still nausea although it's been a month since I threw up! Yay!
Other things:
Something all over her face... not sure what now.

For Valentine's Day, we made sticker Valentines for our families. Daddy, Nana and Papa, and Nama and Grandad (Grandma and Grandpa) were treated a little more special and for them, we made hearts out of hand prints. It was a hit and soo not as messy as I thought it would be. (From the top of my heart to the tips of my toes-footprint- I love you!)

Want to see my messy room? I swear I don't even care that I'm posting this, but I should. Here I am 28 weeks.
Spencer had a birthday! We love him so much and I am ashamed that I didn't dedicate a sloppy romantic post to him, but that's how it goes. He and Abby are showing off a few of his presents, including a little Red Sox t-shirt for baby brother.

Our niece Taylor was baptized in early March, which in our church we can choose to do when we turn 8, and Spencer and Abby were able to go watch. Afterward, they went to IHOP, where Ab destroyed this chocolate "funny face" pancake with chocolate syrup and whipped cream (had I been there, she probably would have eaten something else...) that she still talks about. She also still asks us to tell her about how Taylor was baptized by uncle Charlie.
I'm messing around with a quilt and trying to get it right. This is about what it looks like now. Too busy?

27 weeks

So these pictures are actually 10 days old, and no longer an accurate depiction of the belly that has popped like crazy over the last week and a half. I seriously feel (FEEL, not look, I know) like I'm almost about to split open, and that my tummy is so tight, that there is no way any more baby can fit inside. I forgot how uncomfortable and full you feel!

Anyway- Here's a quick update!
How far along: 27 weeks
Baby: About 2 lbs, roughly the size of a head of cauliflower
Maternity clothes: Not really; although I have a few maternity shirts I've been given that I wear once a week maybe, and I bought my first pair of maternity jeans a few weeks ago-I wear those once or twice a week. I've decided leggings in public are okay too.
Gender: Boy! (still. I don't want to be one of those girls who is told one thing, and births another on D day, so I ask them to check at every ultrasound!)
Movement: Moving all the time, although not always big kicks. He likes to bump me regularly. And do what I can only assume is the butterfly stroke. I love to watch my tummy move.
Sleep: Not bad, although I've had a few nights of random restless hours. Body, don't you know what you will be going through again? Sleep, stupid!
Cravings: Mostly water and lately, raspberry/strawberry lemonade. I can't drink very much at once or I'll vomit, so I'm always thirsty. I have barely felt any hunger these last 7 months at all, only a feeling that I need to eat or else I'll be sick. Fresh fruit, (but probably because it's juicy and satisfies my thirst) and bagels, lots and lots of bagels.
Symptoms: Shortness of breath, leg cramps in the middle of the night, still nausea

We are overall both very healthy. The most challenging thing we are dealing with currently is how excess hormones can cause me to lose my patience likethat with a 2-almost-3-year-old... seriously, that's the worst side effect yet! Wish us luck!
